Spontaneous snap along the beach..very low PoV so no chance to use the viewfinder...a bit

of luck (I would have been even luckier to have a bit more headroom on top of the dog's

head)...

This is a great angle, as well as a wonderful sense of humor, even though this dog looks quite dangerous.... I like the cropping and the red shorts, as well as the shadows of both of them. I like the composition!

I would like to see a bit more space above the dogs head. It would provide better framing. I would vignette the dog to pull the eye there. There is a competition between the dog and the owner to be the subject. I would clone out the border merger on the left, upper corner.

Thanks Senol, Pnina, Michael ad John for your comments....

Pnina...this was a totally spontaneous catch...observed the cyclist and dog coming to me...when they were close enough I put the camera down the floor (just like when you want to give the dog a sweet)...only one image and they were gone...very simple and no pretention...

John thanks for your detailed comment...about head space I totally agree with you...since this shot was totally spontaneous there is no way to correct that than to do another one at a later occasion...about the extra vignetting and cloning that's something I rarely do because I want to preserve the spontaneity of the image...

I agree with you that any image can be improved from the camera raw....but working too far (cloning, etc...) has the risk to destroy the spontaneous mood...in my opinion (it's only mine and I accept it can be wrong) a street photo has not to be perfect and little imperfection like you mention are part of it...if you start to correct everything in post processing you risk loosing the salt of life toward the move to perfection and that's something I want to avoid...that is not to say this image is good as it is....just to say it is like it is and I accept people like it or not as it is...

Interesting observations here. I don't see competition between the dog and owner, I see it as a relationship. What I think the photo accomplishes is to convey very strongly the feel of the pull and will of the dog, evidence in his look, from your low perspective, in the pull of the wire, the clenched hand of the bicyclist, and his in-your-face position in the frame. That position is strengthened by the relative smallness of the guy in the blue shirt who seems so far behind but in fact isn't terribly far away. I find that his head so close to the top of the frame and even his almost blocking the guy behind him sets up a bit of tension that sort of reinforces the tension in his pull. All in all, I feel like you've gotten a lot out of what is generally a fairly familiar scene. You've caught much of the essence of the kinds of energies present that we often simply walk right by.

I have just discovered this one. I like the tension created with the dog's head at the edge of the frame, like he is at the end of his leash. I think if there were more space above him, it would lose some of its wonderful "in your face" attitude.
