pnital 36 Posted August 2, 2009 I like the angle you have photographed this one. Beautiful atmospher of a place( Paris? ). the birds and fog, the accentuated FG and blurred BG all of them are creating the feeling of timing that looked early morning?. the lack of human figures are adding to my feeling it was early.I like the "wild" trees vs. the order of the rest. Very well observed and converted. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 2, 2009 Thank you Pnina and Susmit. Pnina - You are right that this was in the morning because of the lack of people around. This was taken in Zurich in a little park by the lake. It is a very relaxing setting at all times and on my first visit years ago I stopped by this same place in the late afternoon. Back then I saw executives from the nearby banks stop by and pause after the end of the business day. There is something about looking at calm water that is soothing and comforting. The small boats passing by from time to time made the scene more rewarding. I remember saying to myself that Zurich is not such a bad place to live, despite its reputation for being boring. ;) Link to comment

tonmestrom 4 Posted August 8, 2009 it's been some time hasn't it? Hope you're doing OK. As far as your photo is concerned I like the subtlety here both in composition and tonality. Those three trees and benches make for a very appealing effect and both the position and the posture of that man works very good. The tonality fits in nicely with your title as in being complementary. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 13, 2009 Thanks Valentyn, David and Ton for your kind comments/ratings. Ton - I'm doing fine and I hope the same for you. Nice to see you here. Your candid comments are always appreciated. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 14, 2009 Everything perfectly in place as if there could be no other possibilities. Only the birds refuse to regimented. Damn birds! ☺ I like the greyness of it. Link to comment
kiwirob 0 Posted September 24, 2009 the soft tone and the grey almost make it feel snowy. My first thought was for melancholy and alone... neither of which is bad... and left me, as others have said, with a sense of calm. I would have like to see the figure stand out a little bit more from his background, but then that would have had to alter the whole angle and nature of the shot, so I'll just have to live with it. One thing I might have done different would be to swing right a bit more and have a little bit more of the water side rather than the grass side in the shot - but again, that would have altered the shot and I don't know whats out of frame. After all that mate, I like it; feels nice. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted October 15, 2009 I really like this one 7/6. Everything seems to be perfectly placed . I might have darkened and increased the contrast of the grass a bit and lightened the 'human figure' with a little dodge and burning. Keep up the good work. Link to comment
