lliebl 5 Posted July 26, 2009 Another landscape that inspires dreams of traveling to distant lands. Beautiful tones, dof, clarity, and the sense of vastness. As always, your photos amaze me. Regards, ~~~~~~~~~~~~Linda Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted July 26, 2009 thanks for stopping by and writing a comment. The Hustai National Park is located about two hours west of Ulaanbaatar. This photo is a shot from the top of the sacred Hustai Mountain, the highest mountain range of the park. Since ancient times this place has been the object of worship by local people. Historically reverence for the mountain has helped protect it and the surrounding area against excessive exploitation. According to the Mongolian tradition, woman are not allowed to visit this place. On my erly morning trip to this place I saw many wild Przewalski horses and majestic deers but for this time they could not attract my attention for long as I was in a hurry to reach the summit by sunrise.
