stephendickey 0 Posted July 18, 2009 I like the way you were trying to simplify the composition with a pano crop. The bit of the image which doesn't work IMO is the cloud in the top right, simply because it intersects the edge of the image. 5/5 Link to comment

naturegirl99 0 Posted July 27, 2009 The sweeping view, the light, both are fantastic. That darn cloud; if only it had a defined border. Simply marvellous shot, though! Cheers, Nancy Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted July 28, 2009 Thanks for the great comments. See what you mean about the silly cloud and am working on a fix now. Actually jumped up in the middle of dinner and ran outside to shoot this. This is a hand held, no tripod, grabbed 2 quick shots and bam! the light was gone. thanks again...RAY Link to comment
cphilpott 0 Posted July 29, 2009 Welcome back, Oh I love this location, I had family in the region when I was a kid. I have never had the chance to be back to collect all the shots that are only in my head. I do not think the cloud crop detracts from the shot, except I would have cropped it even tighter on the right side. In other news, after a break from PN I am back with a small folder titled Utah and you are invited to drop by. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 1, 2009 I can see why you wanted to rush out and take this photo! The lighting is soft and wonderful. I'm honestly just not that bothered by the cloud. I think it kind of leads the viewer's eye off the page.....as if there were more 'monuments' off to the right....giving a sense of the expanse of the scene. Although I didn't try it, I'm inclined to agree with Craig about cropping just a smidge more off the right. You might try it and see if you like it! Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted August 1, 2009 Thanks for the great comments. As I said this was a jump up and grab shot just me hoping I could get the color. I'm beginning to see the tighter crop on the right. I'm thinking just to the right of the butte. As always I do value your comments and they are indeed, appreciated....RAY Link to comment
