jim oker 0 Posted January 3, 2003 This is from a few years ago at this time of year - this year's snowpack is still too thin to enjoy this tour, and Max is getting too old to do long hard tours. I'm glad I got this image - a "2 bodies moving into the white tunnel" type of shot. Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted January 3, 2003 --nice catch Jim, ---but the thumbnail gives one the impression the dog is but an extension of the broken tree!! Curosity made me look further to explain a log with fuzzy tail? ;-) Link to comment

jsthorne 0 Posted January 3, 2003 Maybe it's my flu talking, but I actually did think that the dog was an extension of the tree until I read the title. Difficult to tell what is going on in the photo from my perspective, as I am completely unaware of the context of the image. It looks as though he is skiing uphill. This adds a little confusion to a dummy such as myself. However, the exposure seems to be okay and I like that little stream of backlight coming through the gap in the treeline. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted January 10, 2003 When I first looked at it, I went "OH MY GOD!" I thought the dog was wild and had latched on to the skiier's hand, and the bits of red skis on the ground were pools of BLOOD! Talk about an optical illusion. I've never been skiing, let alone with a dog. I can't imagine what it's like! Link to comment
