stp 6 Posted July 13, 2009 I'll take illusion -- it's easier to deal with. Here I like the dark vegetation contrasting with the much lighter background, all in perfect reflection. I tend to like contrasting elements within a shot like this, so this appeals to me. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted July 13, 2009 yes, the contrast between foreground and background works out great. A very serene scene for sure and a pleasure to look at. I'm not to fond of the colours though. Somehow they don't feel right to me. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 13, 2009 It looks like a pencil "scribble" in the fog.... ;-)) and I like the nuances and gradation of it on the page/ frame. Delicate composition. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Thanks folks. It's funny but the 'scribble' is exactly what I saw. As for the colour, these shots have a very narrow range so curves or levels can have a dramatic impact. Perhaps I should do it in B&W? Link to comment
lliebl 5 Posted July 15, 2009 Wonderful in that reality and illusion appear one and the same. Artful. An image that invites peaceful contemplation. Well done! Regards, ~~~~Linda Link to comment
bishop bastien 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Lovely work, Jeff! A beauty with great mood... Appreciate your work more than I have commented. Best regards -- Bishop Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Gosh, you do this sort of image so very well. Jeff, this is exquisite. What makes this work so well for me is the total absence of any hint of a horizon other than in the mirrored vegetation. The gradient from top to bottom is such a deliciously smooth arc. I feel adrift and at peace in this. Nice! Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted July 18, 2009 Thanks folks, I always appreciate such positive feedback. It sure beats the hell out of visits from 3/3 man. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted July 30, 2009 If only these 2 foreground bushes could appear lower in the frame ! What a great composition it would be ! But still, I like it as it is, too... I'd perhaps like this one even better in B&W, by the way... Whereas I'd leave the other shot I just commented on in color... Strange, isn't it...? Link to comment
sriram 0 Posted December 16, 2009 I agree with Ian...I like the series of images (with this same characteristic) for precisely the same reason. Really beautiful. Link to comment
