I just had to take a picture of my wife on our wedding night.

Just wanted some input on what could have made this better.

I don't like how her skin becomes so light (in the front). Maybe just shooting for the reflection in the mirror would have worked.

don't always make wonderful pictures. I know this must be very special to you, but for me there are too many elements in the picture. On the other hand, keep taking pictures of her, she's a real beauty. Congratz on you marriage!

As for the picture, I have three problems with it;

 

1) The way her face is partly in shadow is too disturbing and is the largest problem here.

 

2) A very small problem is the presence of the edge of the lamp. Moving the lamp would have improved the shot substantially.

 

3) Least of all, the blurry portion of her is to large. Or more precisely not large enough. There's too much of her showing, if you were to have moved in more so that you were more over her shoulder I think it would have been better...

 

Otherwise, I see nothing else wrong with this picture other than I hope you did "more" than just take pictures all night! hehehe...cheers!

 

Look, when we said we wanted to see photos from the "wedding night", this is NOT what we meant!

I like it though. It has all the hallmarks of being a nice vignette of a special day. Excellent!

I'd crop it as shown to get rid of some of the distractions at the edge of the frame.
