kconiff 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Hi Samantha, I don't know if this will be a critique as much as an 'Ive been there, tried that' comment. It looks like an Alaskan Inside Passage shot, am I correct? Most likely from the deck of a cruise ship or tour boat. I had the blessing of an Alaskan cruise back in 2003. When taking shots of the glaciers, time of day is probably the biggest factor in a pleasing image. The direction of light and weather conditions have a great influence on the color of the ice. I was frustrated that most of the glacier photo ops came at the worst time of day even if it was sunny weather. My shots are all very similar. A strong blue cast and very flat depth wise. Have you tried to manipulate it at all with an editing program? I use PSP X but I'm not very good at anything other than the basics. It could probably be much improved with a sunset tint to the sky and some work on bringing out depth and detail in the ice and mountains. Kevin Link to comment
