minicucci 0 Posted July 5, 2009 Naftali: An utterly charming image. Shades of Claude Monet's impressionism. The movement and reflections in the water are just terrific. I'd be tempted to add a bit more vibrance to the colors, to emphasize the liveliness of the light. Not to bludgeon with saturation but just to put an edge on the light. (Although, if memory serves, Monet always used a pretty restrained palette.) Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted July 8, 2009 Pat, thanks for a nice comment. i will play more with colors but it depends on how soon i get to a good display screen. as for Monet - he underwent a lot of changes in his perception and choice of colors, and towards then end of his life he was almost blind. hence probably the retraint of his late paintings. if were are on the subject - my favorites are his paintings of steam-enveloped locomotives at parisian major train stations. for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Claude_Monet_004.jpg Link to comment
