Does this work with the very soft FG. It was even more pastel but I beefed it up a little.

What a beautiful pastel colors and the dreamy setting Well done.

Color-wise, I think the foreground is fine, you don't want it to clash with the bluish-white of the sea, but I would crop some of it. The light is nice and soft.

the soft FG does work well Jeff, it compliments the sky nicely. it's an excellent shot. love the colours.

Jeff... The colors all work very well together. I have to note that in the thumbnail the rock came across as much too centered and strong, but in the full size it works well. Perhaps a little cropping at the bottom, per Claude, would not lose too much of the pastel effect, but yet help the composition.... just a thought, it's excellent as is... Mike

 

 

Many thanks for the feedback.I wrestled with the crop but the square won out. I'll have to try out a modified crop.

I could go both ways on this one. I think the softness works well, and the amount of beach showing mirrors the sky. On the other hand, for me the greater interest is in the rock, surf, and color in the sky, and cropping the beach a bit would allow those stronger elements to dominate even more.

Thanks Steve, if I ever get around to printing this one, it will be cropped, I suspect.

we must think alike, ive got a photo of the same spot. its a great location for beach photography.
