It's a great picture ... but by including the hands , I feel that you have dragged attention away from her face . Just my oppinion .

Damian, this portrait is - in my opinion - good proof how you wouldn't use the Light. this way, it's not helping to portray the face/ eMotion, rather than it is deforming it in an way far beyond acceptable measure.

maybe soft light from down will help a lot, to produce sad, yet clear expression.because the eyes and mouth are saying wordless treasures in portrayal.

For me the light in this photo is good. With different light this photo would not be a better photo, it would be a different photo.
