Liz, I just came across these images of magnolias from last year. I'm sorry I didn't see them sooner and know now why you commented on mine as you did. Yes, this kind does seem to make me think of the southern states - although I don't know much about them (but would love to them some day). I got here from your lovely portrait. I have been reading Mark's critiques for a while now and am looking forward to trying my hand at a portrait to see if I can put it all into practice. As you say it is a whole class and very valuable. All I need is a model. Take care.
