GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted June 7, 2009 When I saw this Poppy, the Stamen Area reminded me so much of those Delicious Tarts and Pies at the Bakery that have Kiwi, straberries...and many other delectable fruits on them. This one is just missing the glaze!!! comments welcomed and appreciated....Gail Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted June 7, 2009 Nice color arrangement Gail. I have to agree, it does look alot like dessert. Best wishes- Jim Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted June 7, 2009 Gail....lovely photo. When I first looked at it I thought those little black spots all over the center were ants. Then again, the peonies outside my house are loaded with ants (as usual) so I must have them on the brain!! Link to comment
jill_rocker 1 Posted June 7, 2009 This is another great macro of a flower from you.. But your title started up my imagination and to me the top of the center looks like an starfish turned upside down and that I dont think is so tasty :) So I think I don´t want any dessert... Tom Wiggins Photography 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Gail: Another good image, your presentation skills are great. I do think that if the DOF was a wider, this image would be even better. Tom Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted June 9, 2009 Order Up!! I have that exact image...on this one I purposely was honing in on the centre of the poppy as I was comparing it to the 'dessert flans, and tarts' at the bakery....but I'm posting another version shortly....thanks again Tom for your input...always welcomed...sincerely, Gail Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted June 9, 2009 your comments are always great to see, much appreciated...and encouraging....exactly what I need to make me work even harder....thankyou both...sincerely, Gail Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 9, 2009 This is beautiufl Gail. I love the colours. I wonder how this would look without the frame and a bit more of the petals? I can see why you wanted to do it this way, but orange and black says Halloween to me, and the image seems to be all about sugary sweetness. It makes me think of Kiwis, mangoes, stawberry sherbet and icing sugar. I also think this image would stand alone really well. Just a thought. All the best. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted June 9, 2009 If you notice the description on the photo...the middle of this poppy reminded me of the flans/tarts/ that we see behind the 'baker's counter'....they have Kiwi's , strawberries, blueberries etc. then a clear glaze.....the colors reminded me of them....Perhaps its my LCD Screen, but it is set to Photo (HPw2207) and the color on my screen is Peach...but I am working on one with more DOF...and shall post it shortly...perhaps it will be more to your liking.....thankyou so much for your kind words...sincerely, Gail( I do plan to have an 'Up close and Personal' folder, where I just hone in on the stamen area on many flowers....I've noticed others do so in Photo magazines and I rather like the look....I've yet to develop a certain 'style'....as I'm just kind of fumbling around in the dark..........I'm sure one day I'll get it all right....)
