shaldar 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Great potrait.I watch your posting regularly and I admire you that you are always ready (even in a bus) and committed to take good potrait and certainly not a casual snap shot.Such commitment and perseverance to stick to one subject is a source of inspiration to a beginner like me. mister-mouse 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Great! Funny, grave and a surprising angle bottom up. It seems you have 'an eye' for great shots, congratulations! Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 6, 2009 Thank you for commenting. I frequently also have been to your site and as you would expect enjoy the portraits the most. I don't recall but probably began coming to you from seening some previous rating. Not such a beginner; not at all! Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 6, 2009 I also to digtital but gradual and reluctant. After recent purchase of D700 I have not shot film. But I want to keep some balance of both maybe just out of loyalty. ...Re; your comment on B&W....well there was a time that it seems that about all displays in galleries were B&W. It has a mood and tonal range effect that I just do not see in color -your "boatyard" for example. B&W needs a strong subject and good tonal range because it does not have the pretty colors to carry the photo. However on a computer display I have trouble often making skin tones look real, not like plastic - problem not present in a darkroom print. I am too wordy here. Thanks for the visit and comment. myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted June 6, 2009 Harald; thank you for visit and commenting. It could appear as "funny" but not. It is not so apparent in the photo as in the live image that she has had a stroke and the right side of her face is twisted and the lower lip is offset....but not so obvious in the photo. Again, thank you for commenting. /meir Link to comment
