davidmccracken 2 Posted May 28, 2009 I had an intention a while back to dedicate an image to Jim Adams. After seeing his comment on the POW 25th May 2009, I thought I would be brave and dedicate this snapshot to him. (I would rather have dedicated something more appropriate and I may well do so.) Feedback appreciated. Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted May 30, 2009 Mary, Thanks for stopping by! I do appreciate your comment. Owen, I didn't think so to be honest but reading your comment is making me change my mind. Edwin, Thanks! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 30, 2009 Well, now...a pleasant surprise. What I really like about this is that there's just enough tonal difference in the trees and stone bridge to separate them from the rest of the photograph. I also like the detail that's evident on the rocks in the shadow cast by the bridge. The dappled shade and sunlight make this look like just the place to enjoy a pleasant interlude with someone whose company you enjoy. Unlike some other landscape photographs, I can see myself relaxing here. But what's really interesting to me is that this bears a striking resemblance to a stone bridge not far from my house. Or maybe the resemblance is only in my head? Either way, I may have to try and photograph it and post it for comparison. We'll see what happens. Thanks for posting this. And it's always good to see you continuing your black and white work!! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 31, 2009 I do appreciate comments on my black and white images from masters of black and white like you and Owen. As mentioned to you before I am starting to 'think' in black and white. I really didn't think this photograph would have been any good before I took it. Indeed when I saw the colour version I nearly never thought to convert it. I do hope you will go out and photograph the bridge near your home. Thanks a lot! Link to comment
