aeg 0 Posted May 27, 2009 Excellent composition. Full of rich colors and architectural forms and textures which contrast well with your subject to create an atmosphere of raw and sometimes unforgiving reality. The expression tells a story all by itself and I find myself wrapped up in his reality and it scares me. Thanks for your comments on my Swan image. Best Regards Link to comment

sue_foll1 0 Posted May 29, 2009 There's something very compelling about this picture. I think partly because his skin hangs in the same way the paint does. Both exhibit the same ravages of time, but in a characterful way. Sue Link to comment

michaellinder 16,613 Posted May 29, 2009 This is an amazing commentary on a reality that is too often ignored, especially those afflicted by the NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) syndrome. This fellow has obviously been around the block a few times. His body shows the wear and tear that street life has to offer, and his clothing confirms the extent of his worldly possessions. The mouse under his right eye is not the result of walking into the proverbial door. Yet, his posture and his facial expression convey, to me, that this man refuses to surrender his dignity as a person, regardless of all the crap he has to endure. I am fully aware that some homeless people choose such a lifestyle. Regardless, this gives the rest of us no excuse for treating them as if they are less than human. They have names; they bleed like every one else. Sorry for the lengthy diatribe, but your photograph really brought out some very strong feelings I have about homeless people. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to express them. michael Link to comment
Apurva Madia 0 Posted May 30, 2009 So many comments before me, I have nothing new to add. But for me this image works fabulously. The candid situation, the expression, the composition and the processing all are right up there! Link to comment

llgarcia 1 Posted May 30, 2009 The expression of the man excellently caught. Maybe a bad day for him but at the same time probably looking ahead of what's in store for him. One difficult moment to capture but you've done it so perfectly. Great treatment too. Congratulations and regards. Thanks for your comments to my photos. - Lester Link to comment
