jgalyon 0 Posted May 26, 2009 not trying to be overly harsh Patrick...but while it's abstract...this photo just doesn't give the viewer anything interesting to focus on. comes across as just random color and shapes. additionally...the image needs to be larger. its small size doesn't help to give the viewer a good look. hope this helps! jg Link to comment
giuseppe_pasquali 0 Posted May 26, 2009 with a mobile, and the composition is - imho - quite an interesting one because takes into consideration and takes advantage of: the natural darker frame; the dynamic lines (vectors) made by the pinnacle and the crane; those blurred circles made by rain drops. Imho this is not an abstract: it's an impressionistic view, and it's a good work. regards, thanks for sharing, Giuseppe Link to comment
dogodonoghue 0 Posted May 27, 2009 John, for your comments about this photo. I started to work on this shot because I liked the structure of it but the 'pixillation' was annoying me. This is my attempt to overcome this obstacle and to produce a worthwhile picture. This is a part of Manchester undergoing much structural change and the other attraction when I photographed this place was that I was aware of the transient nature of this scene. I can see what you are saying and am glad that you took the trouble to comment. Thank you, Giuseppe, for your lucid and insightful critique ( and in another language too!). I think, on reflection, that it is an attempt to be impressionistic, even though I did not realize this when I was doing it. What is really so satisfying for me is that you have picked-up on all the features of the shot that have made me bother with it at all; cool. Finally Guiseppe, I hope and pray that we win tonight in Roma and that the only ruins that we leave behind are the ones that bring in the tourists and Barca's broken dreams. Cheers, Patrick Link to comment

trisha jean-angela 5 Posted October 18, 2010 I can't believe you took this from a cell phone; I think it's great! I love the reflection and the water drops...looks like an impressionist painting in many ways. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
