a cleaner background would really improve this image.

I'd crop off the top quarter of the frame to make it symmetrical.

I would suggest cropping a little of the top...

Nice shot Jason. I think black & white is often under used in bird photography, although it doesnt suit all subjects. I think you have made a good choice with this heron. I too think that cropping the top area may improve the overall appearance, but i think the top part is less distracting in black and white, than it would have been in colour.

nice exposure and focus on the heron. I would crop highlit grass at the top, as it distracts from the bird and reflection. and give it a nice title
