Nice shot! I like the balance of brown sided, and white sided slopes. No sun on the south side of the mountains, I guess, and therefore longer snow cover. Look at all those hills and valleys and ready made photographer's S-curves! The dark shadow in the foreground is also very nicely placed.

Many places for the eye to explore in this one Jeff. A nice sense of balance too, with that central angular foothill.

Thanks for the positive feedback, folks. This is one of my favourite places in NZ. Next time I'm there, I intend spending a day there just watching it change.

It is a very beautiful landscape . For me the other side of the globe....;-)) .The cold/warm color palette, light and shadows, different forms and textures. all are spot on. Nice as well is the road through the pass. Has to be seen large.
