setsail728 15 Posted May 16, 2009 If your computer is like mine, I find that the photo changes "appearance" when I move the computer screen or move my head to a different position. So please, when looking at this photo, move your head around. Sit up close...then sit way back. The photo changes intensity when you do that. I don't know if that's good or bad, but you may as well see all aspects of this one. Thanks! Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted May 16, 2009 Ah Ha!! My 3/3 guy is as predictable as clockwork. Within 15 minutes of posting many of my photos it shows up as my very first rating...anonymously of course! Ya' know....I think I'd be disappointed without it!! Link to comment
bevip 0 Posted May 16, 2009 I did gymnastics with my head and I noticed only a small difference caused down from the reflection that goes from the monitor to my eye. The more the image is little more you highlight a contrast enhancement. Best Regards. Ciao Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 16, 2009 Very interesting image Warren......I'm beginning to think you are concerned for our 'heart health'......and now that I have done my exercise for the day......it does change somewhat....(perhaps I'm just dizzy :--)) but with my LCD moniter.....most images do that....just don't go posting a pic where the 'eyes' are going to follow me everywhere -- I find your fog an interesting element...but for some reason....would like to see just a little more of that brilliant foilage peeping through. But that's just me.....I'm terrified of the FOG. (major nightmare as a child.....lost in the fog and can't find my way home....as an adult.....lost in the fog...and cannot find my children....and then there was the time when I was on a blind date (second time around) boat slammed into some reeds in the fog.....and couldn't get out until the morning........that's my story....and I'm STICKING TO IT!!!! :--))) Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted May 16, 2009 Gail,...the fog can be scary as you have mentioned. When it closes in when I'm sailing its a major concern. As for this photo, I actually enhanced the saturation to see if I could get a little more color into it. That's not a soft focus you see here. Its the actual fog (I live on the water and I get plenty of it). Not much post processing at all. I did a little bit with the leaves but that's all. What you are seeing is pretty much what I was looking at this morning. I guess it really isn't a great photo but its actual....not an abstract this time! Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 17, 2009 Well Warren.....if that is truly what you saw....there is not much you can do about it...and you were recording 'life' as it occurred....not much bad you can say about that....I had thought (and I am sorry for jumping to conclusions) that it was a 'foggy effect you were after).....the Fog has an appeal.......I just don't like being out in it. I guess it 'symbolizes the UNKNOWN.....I don't deal well with uncertainty...EG Our house is for sale......I'm climbing the wall.....I dont' deal well with not knowing where I am goint to live......I need to have a sense of home. The fact that we moved a lot as a child (3 times in Kindergarten!)....may have some bearing on that feeling. This is the time of year for 'FOG' ....so be careful out there Warren!..sincerely, Gail Link to comment
bevip 0 Posted May 18, 2009 it is difficult for me to express in English, I often help with the translator of Google. I hope not to have written offensive concepts of your work on this. My goal is to discover new techniques and improve my work and it is thanks to people like you that this can happen. Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks everyone for the comments, Paolo...your comments were NOT offensive to me at all. People like or don't like what they see, or some combination in between, and express that through critiques and ratings. I've learned much on photonet also. No need to apologize for your English. You speak at least two languages while I can speak only one. It should be me who is apologizing to you for not answering you in Italian. Link to comment
life-in-perspective 0 Posted May 18, 2009 This is interesting - I am not sure whether I miss something from the beautiful composition veiled under the fog or gain a new idea. Probably the second one. Nice work. Regards. Link to comment
