dgilson 2 Posted May 11, 2009 Very Nice! I like the softness of the skin. Catch light in the eyes. Highlights in the hair. Highlight on the backdrop. It is all there. Lovely lady too. If this were mine, I would be very proud of it. Link to comment
paul_aylett1 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Thank you Dan. In many ways, I love this shot - mostly for the reasons you mention. On the other hand, I worry that I'm falling into a clichéd lighting style. Like those photos you get done at the mall. That's the last thing I would want. Link to comment
raystofberg 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Well done! Don't worry about getting stuck in making cliche images. Consider it to be a basis you can fall back on if you have to. A place to start from with making alterations in the way you light. The only person that can get you to remain at one place is you and from the sound of it you will not let that happen :) Regards, Ray Link to comment
dgilson 2 Posted May 11, 2009 You are welcome. I am not a pro but if I was this is what I would call a money shot. Something that could be sold and used to fund other "projects". There is a lady in the same club that I belong to and she typically brings in at least 1 of these a month and takes a lot of the awards. She keep tweaking things making subtle improvements. My suggestion is to keep shooting them enough to keep the skill up while also shooting other things to keep your mind entertained. In some years to come you will be able to do anything you want with your camera. Link to comment

paul_aylett1 0 Posted May 11, 2009 Thank you Jill. Certainly Marcella isn't camera shy and as I'm sure you're aware, it makes things a whole lot easier with a subject who loves to be in front of the lens! Thanks for stopping by, it's much appreciated! Paul Link to comment
