Guest Guest Posted April 30, 2009 Tanya, Thank you for putting your name on the mat area where it belongs. Amarae is a beautiful girl - Very nice complexion - Very good lighting (I like your main to fill ratio) - Nice catch lights - good make-up - Nice contrast - Good separation of her from the background - Sharp focus on her eyes - Nice skin-tone - Beautiful expression - She displays an underlying sensuality without any sexual overtones (very nice). Just a personal item, but I don't like thin (almost spaghetti) straps. For me they are like a line that cuts a girl's body - I am not sure why you have cropped so far into her head (Usually when you crop that far it is because you are going to do a very tight crop on the bottom, which you did not do. I would therefore like to see a crop above her head) - I see no reason to use a horizontal format. All that space in front of her is wasted unless you are going to insert a poem or something (not a bad idea, by the way). There is nothing in that empty space to balance your image. Your photograph is extremely left heavy. I am afraid it will fall over! This should shot as a vertical portrait. Nice shot of a beautiful girl, Mark Link to comment
tanya may 0 Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks Gorm and Mark! Mark, I deliberately shot the image with the negative space as I thought it draws your attention to her. I had positive reviews on the use of negative space on other forums. I suppose its all up to personal preference at the end of the day... photography is an art form I guess! Link to comment
