aarkp 2 Posted April 25, 2009 He is confined to a wheelchair and spends the entire day on the pavement near a mosque. Baba smiled when I sought his permission to take photographs. Link to comment

billsymmons 0 Posted May 1, 2009 Rajat, this is such a nice portrait. The face is expressive and communicates great feeling. The vignetting is superb and really concentrates the focus. Really well done My compliments, Bill Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted May 10, 2009 There's a lot of wisdom and goodness in Baba's eyes which make an irresistible impression that we have to do with an extraordinary man. Original post processing is the evidence that his life is full of light. Every inch an interesting portrait. Best regards -wm Link to comment
mauroni 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Even if I would crop the lot of white all around this wonderful face, it is one of the best portrait I've seen here on PN. Congrats, Mauro. The silly system doesn't allow me to rate as I want the picture. Come back next week for the 7/6 it deserve, imho. bye Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted May 19, 2009 Thanks Mauro, and I would not crop any more of this photograph for anything in the world. Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted June 11, 2009 Rajat in my personal opinion this is your best portrait, here without question there is clear communication between the two of you amounting to respect, your choice of a sepia over the conventional b&w has proved fitting giving I the viewer a sense of age & mysticism and the added blurring giving a surreal dreamlike quality. Although Baba's left eye appears distant the right is as sharp as a razor and holds perhaps infinite wisdom. Compliments Hugh Hill Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted June 11, 2009 Hugh, so you have dropped by with a visiting card accompanied with a bouquet! Glad you could come. Passing by, I observed him on a couple of occasions. Sitting quietly in his wheel chair on the pavement/sidewalk. He seemed so much at peace -- with himself, with the world. When I asked him if I could take a photograph and he smiled back, I was touched to the core by the radiance and serenity in that smile. In my proximity to him I felt his aura -- at once calming, soothing, good. Many days later I transferred the files from my camera to the PC and as this photograph (the original color version) splashed across the monitor I was again overwhelmed. For quite some time I just sat there looking at his image. I felt totally at peace...that is all that I aimed to transmit in this interpretation... Link to comment
