This was my first try at black and white film, would like to know

what everyone thinks. Canon A5, 70-200L, Kodak 400 tmax

I like the mood and the sidelight. Very nice. The contrast is too strong for my taste. Try printing on a lower grade of paper and burn the shirt a bit.

i agree with the first comment. Very nice mood, nice photo, but I envision it printed softer, on a lower contrast paper, and some burning of the highlights and possibly a little dodging of the dark side of the face.

I think its a nice photo. I like increased contrast personally, but the shirt is just a little too bright. You need just a wisp of density there without throwing it too much different than the highlighted face. If you get a chance to manipulate it you might repost as a comparsion. I would like to see it as suggested above, since in effect, they are right.

I personally like the picture and I feel that the contrast was well done for what you wanted to establish. I think the picture was wonderful and I would actually have you take my pictures.
