This really is my first Landscape with my Digital Camera....my Dad was

with me and gave me a few pointers....but this wonderful waterfall is down

a country road anyone would just pass by on the highway....I have some

better shots..but in this one, I wanted to get in 'all' the fallls, right up to the

bridge we were standing on.

All right! This is a great shot and I really like the water movement. Your presentation rocks. I like the way you framed this out. and oh, welcome to landscape photography. It will grow on you..;>)

You can't believe my trepidition on posting a Landscape....up to now, I've been posting to 'get my feet we' and 'just do it'.....rather than hang back 'too scared' of the response I may get...not being 'good enough' to post, compare to the hundreds of talented people on this website. I have other photos I am working on at this particular 'falls' site...that I am fairly sure will look pretty good with the limited skills I have in this area...but to be sure, I will continue to study...and imporve on a daily basis....thankyou for your kind critique and time taken to do so....sincerely, Gail

Thankyou for your kind and informative critique.....my Dad was a great help...and it was so nice taking photos with him....he has so much info to share and to be 'in the field' with him was a great 'bonding - in Photography'. I like the look of water when it is softened, but I still like to see some 'action'.....the energy behind the water......thankyou so much for taking the time to let me know how you feel about this shot....cos' I was 'terrified to post' in case I did it all wrong....(this was Dad's third trip to this falls, the sky was overcast....the other 2 trips it was expremely sunny and he had that exact problem...the water was way to blown out, and almost impossible to edit.....so on Saturday with the overcast sky....he hoped the water would 'cooperate' and it didi!!!)sincerely, Gail

Wonderful capture of small rapids. The rock formations to the sides, the trees to the rear and the dark and light of the water, all, both in color and texture work so well together. Very beautiful photo!

This being a very new 'genre' I'm venturing into.....your thoughtful and encourageing comments have been very heart warming and inspiring.....I'm turly very nervous about doing 'Landscape shots'.....but it is time I venture out of my 'little world'. Thanks to my Dad.....'I got my feet a 'little wet'.....my sincerest thanks for your time and generous comments. Sincerely, Gail

first of all my dear friend , if you decided to get into landscape ... this means we are in for a treat with many beautiful images to come.... secondly, this is such a good break from all the traditional landscape/waterfall images... the angle you have chosen is so unique and creative .... it really brings a different and very nice perspective my dear friend , congrats.

I am beginning to understand that you really shooting anything that comes in your way and it is very interesting .... This nature picture could well be from Sweden .. it feels like home .... I think that you have got a beautiful depth in the picture ... Well done ...

All my best to you, Jill

I hope you are right.....working on this one was very interesting as I love the outdoors...but at the same time I didn't want to 'overkill' it with too much color depth . This river is really cool, as I worked on the rocks surrounding the water....there are so many 'shapes of faces of animals'....cool, yet spooky....I'll send you one & if you close in really good with your 'Navigator'.....you can see dogs,....spirit like faces, tortosises, dinosaurs....whiiirrrrrd!!!! Thanks for your encouraging comments.......talk later, Gail

Isn't it amazing...that in different parts of the world.....the woods are so similar. This was a really cool spot Jill.....just to the right of the falls was an old Mill that had been 'beaten down....but many of the parts were still there....got some interesting shots of those....the river(creek), as you see it at the top of the Photo curves, Dad and I went up around on the left, and saw some more beautiful sights. This time of year is when the water is really rushing, so if I want to get some more shot of it, I'll have to get up there soon. Thankyou for your support of me Jill....so nice to have someone like you 'in my corner'.....you're the best...Gail

Lovely image Gail. I really like the curve in the stream and the trees along the bank at the top of the image. And I must say that I like it because you kept the frame somewhat simple. I believe that greatly improves the power of the image. Nice work. Regards, Gary

Thankyou Gary for your kind words.....re frame....yep...it's more simple...but not quite simple enough for some people....when you have time in the next few days...visit my folder "My Photos With Little or No Frames"....perhaps a way to please all tastes....and offer an alternative.

Good composition and DOF. Flow of water brought dynamism to your photo. Colors are good in saturation and vitality. Sharpness is in a good level. Keep sharing. Best wishes.
