davidmalcolmson 0 Posted December 2, 2002 I was photographing events in the park when I noticed this young man was looking at me. It was such a bold look and he had such an interesting face, that I just had to get his likeness on film. I have often wondered what became of him because he appeared to be such a proud and intelligent young man. Link to comment
jessmck 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Great capture. Proud and intelligent were immediately what came to mind when I saw this picture. Such an unlikely expression for a boy his age, but a beautiful one. Link to comment
jillmyers 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Gorgeous. I love the expression and how he is surrounded by these anonymous adults. He seems to be the smallest of the group, but his eyes show that he has been through a lot. Link to comment
r.m. 8 Posted December 2, 2002 This is a beautiful shot. Deep & rich. I really love it. Link to comment
leo 0 Posted December 4, 2002 It reminds me of the "boy in the park" photo by Diane Arbus. Both are well composed and pretty expressive. Link to comment
k._s._lovington 0 Posted December 4, 2002 i don't know if its the wine or what, but this photo does it for me in ways that few have. cheers Link to comment
maria_s. 1 Posted December 4, 2002 David, this is simply awsome ... I gotta run now, ciao. Link to comment
._.8 0 Posted December 4, 2002 This is a very eye-catching portrait, with a LOOK, David !!! I like the way you’ve singled him out of the surrounding crowd. No wonder that look arrested you… Sharpness, clarity & lighting are just perfect. A very emotive composition (this ‘young man’ looks very boyish to me!) Marie-Hélène Link to comment
babatunde martins 0 Posted December 9, 2002 A perfect image. The best part of this is the eye line in which you took the picture. Most photographers miss this for some reason when shooting children. It transforms him from a child to a little man. A citizen of earth Babatunde Link to comment
babatunde martins 0 Posted December 9, 2002 Man so powerfull. He has supreme wisdom in his eyes. He looks like he knows more than most about something he may share with us in the next lifetime.. Link to comment
rick vincent 1 Posted December 12, 2002 The arms of the adults create an interesting background. Link to comment
davidmalcolmson 0 Posted December 12, 2002 You're absolutely right. I too was taken by the pattern of the arms, it somehow contributes to the iconic quality of this princely young man. Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted December 20, 2002 I love the way he stares at us. Very strong and character. Link to comment
emily_carlson 0 Posted December 28, 2002 his expression is so powerful, it makes for a nice contrast between his actual age and the age in which his eyes make you think he is. the random elbows only emphasize this more. great tones and composition.... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 28, 2002 i like very much composition. it is a pity that the left elbow on the head remove a little the 'legibility ?' Link to comment
pampolin 1 Posted December 30, 2002 This is the best I saw today. Nice expression and contrast Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 30, 2002 Another very strong environmental shot, David. Very well done. Link to comment
hayward 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Thank for you email, David and for pointing this one out to me. I agree that it is among your very best. I might describe his demeanor as princely. He is dressed like an adult and standing among them and yet he seems their equal. I notice that he almost has a halo around his head, separating him from the background. Did you dodge/burn that? If so, it's very well done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 3, 2003 I'm not going to rate this shot because it can create problems for you and I (hehe) , but I wanted to just let you know - I enjoyed seeing it. The best:) Link to comment
amanda mumma 0 Posted March 29, 2005 emotive and those tones are glorious, excellent tonal separation in the dark and shadow areas. Link to comment
