JimCowan 0 Posted March 30, 2009 Your kind comments are very much appreciated. This photo was taken in the late afternoon, the sun was lighting the duck from the right as he came in for a landing, in addition to the birds position and 'stopped action' I also liked the way his eye was visible and lighted even though shadows from the wing feathers crossed his face. 1/5000 at f8 at ISO 640. JimCowan 0 Posted March 30, 2009 Dror, Jill and Tony, Thank you, it is very nice to get such positive feed back. The early Spring landscape is a bit of a challenge, but I'm afraid I haven't risen to that challenge since I've become obsessed photographing the returning Geese. Jim Link to comment
deniselanterman 0 Posted March 31, 2009 Hi Jim, thanks for your comment. 153 is an amazing capture. Amazing because of the colors and clarity of a bird in flight. I'm impressed !!!! A definite 7/7. Cheers. Link to comment

beaz 0 Posted April 5, 2009 I've been staring at this one a while and can't think of anything that could be better. The color is gorgeous, with green, blue and fiery orange shining out from the luxurious feather wrap. Much has and can be said about the dynamic "pose". I like the way the wings encircle him like a Las Vegas show girl's mantel. I personnally like the fact that his eye was caught just in the light between his feathers, like he is peeking out from behind a cape. The feeling of suspense is strong: as he is...just...almost...a webbed toe...and half a flap...away from his landing. One could also imagine him winking and getting in a quick wave to the crowd with his free foot before a final touch down ends the show. - Jerry Link to comment
shirkwolfe 0 Posted April 26, 2009 These colors are magical! There's really good action and human interest... is this going to end badly? :) Link to comment
