dandem 1 Posted March 25, 2009 PLEASE VIEW LARGER. Thanks. This was taken at the Black Creek Poineer Villiage. The house was built in 1840 and in the mid 1970's it was furnished to look like the mid 1860's. This would be considered a upper middle class home. This friendly lady is the house tour guide. michaellinder 16,613 Posted March 26, 2009 OK, please rate my stuff all 3s so I can rate yours all 7s!!!!! This photo has a very Dickensian feel to it. 1840s? - Maybe. The tour guide really has a very authentic air about her, and the effect of the shot is magnificent. The soft touch works beautifully! My compliments on another fine example of your abilities, your vision, and your neshumah . . ., michael (And thanks for everything - including the ratings.) Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 304 Posted March 26, 2009 I wish I had something like this environment to take portraits, old fashioned stuff like this! It is very difficult to make something like this, a complex composition with all fit elements. Here everything is on its place, even the part of the window plays an important role and is placed right where it belongs and right as much as it takes! Wonderful! Ciao my friend! PDE Link to comment

pietje 0 Posted March 26, 2009 As Pierre did comment : amazing to have order in such composition with so many points of interest. The light is very fine mastered. The is no critic, just my comment : you often use a sort of glow in your processing ... wich is not my cup of thea, therefore I often quit without rating or comenting your very often interesting work (I don't like to rate negative ). Here I make an exception. Greetings, ... Piet Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Very nice, Lawrence! What I see here is a fine photographic opportunity that you recognized and took. I believe that this is exactly your approach at the zoo and in other areas. You have an excellent eye for light and composition and you also know how to present these subjects in an interesting and appealing manner. I congratulate you once again, my friend!
