laurentlacoste 0 Posted March 22, 2009 Great one, Ton. A BW beauty with great angle and light. Atmosphere! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 25, 2009 Really, really nice work here, Ton. The shadows and lighting go so well with the subject matter, enhancing so well the scene. The figure seems caught in the act yet almost blends in with the background, just right. Nice perspective catching the sunlit triangle almost pointing at the viewer. Beautifully handled technically, maintaining detail where you obviously wanted it, both in the bright and the darker spots. The composition feels like it was captured in the only way it could be. Great photo. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted March 29, 2009 Great shadow work here Ton, a great study of light/shadow, shape/line. I love the figure that becomes lost in the composition. A hidden gem in a thought provoking photograph! Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted March 29, 2009 thanks Laurent, for your comment as much as for your visit Fred, thanks. This is about ten years old at a guess and frankly one of the best pinhole's I have made. Exposure was only a few minutes. Got a good negative from that and while there is some control serendipity has its own role in pinhole photography. Great to do. Thanks Tim. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 12, 2010 nice black and white ton and great use of lighting... imho i would have cropped right up to the point of the triangle for greater effect and less dead space,,,,take care samme Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted September 12, 2010 thanks Samme. As you've gathered I printed the whole negative here as a contact print. However, would I have put this in the enlarger I doubt I would have cropped it like you suggested because for me that empty space here is functional as in needed for a balanced whole. With the crop you offered it would lose that, Link to comment
