PeterKrenek 26 Posted March 15, 2009 An old tree in the process of decay. I was interested by the patterns and details. Your opinions are welcomed. Link to comment
doug elick 0 Posted March 15, 2009 I found myself thinking, "what is that"? This image is certainly unique. The color rendition is good and the lighting (filtered through trees I imagine) is more interesting than if this were directly sun lit. Perhaps its a limitation of using a jpegs and web browsers, but I find myself wanting to see more fine detail. I feel like there's another layer I'm not seeing. Also, my photographic sensibility would have me present this image as a B&W. I think this image is about texture and shadow, which *can* be enhanced by stripping away the color. Regardless, this is a strangely compelling image. Good work. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted March 15, 2009 Douglas, thank you for your thoughtful critique. I am glad you fing it interesting. Indeed this was shot in an autumn forest with the light fighting its way through the trees. You are right about the details, this has to be viewed large. I attach a crop to show the textures, which cannot be appreciated from the web size. Link to comment
