Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 18, 2009 I never commented on this but there is a vulnerability to the girl that I think is remarkable. In a way, she reminds me of one girl in that haunting picture from the Vietnam War of children running down the road in shock after their village was napalmed, their clothes having been burned away. luis.miro 0 Posted May 14, 2009 Carlos, me ha dejado impresionado. Con esta composición, el b/w, la expresión de la cara, el gesto,... transmite unas emociones que seguro voy a recordar durante tiempo. Un abrazo, Luis Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted May 15, 2009 A simple but simply stunning composition. Finely balanced and aligned. Perfect photography. Sensitive presentation. The square format is very effective. The child looking directly at the camera expressionlessly speaks volumes... Link to comment
BK1664882259 0 Posted August 28, 2010 a great piece, Carlos- perfectly balanced. amid all the concrete & bricks, the sense of fragility here is accentuated. regards, b. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 29, 2011 The light reflected off the walkway provides a perfect background for the child. And there is a vulnerability here. It's a lovely picture and will linger in my mind. Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted November 2, 2012 I'm surprised to find that I never commented on this photo before. In some of your images, particularly seascapes, there is an aura-like quality you achieve, a pure white of a quality that does not appear blown out, despite the absence of detail. In this image, from the wet pavement, this child is enveloped in that aura, or perhaps she exudes it. Regardless, this striking and singular, Carlos. Link to comment
