leora 3 Posted March 4, 2009 This happened so naturally. Some photos of children are more difficult. Thanks for commenting. Link to comment
billsymmons 0 Posted March 4, 2009 Another nice shot Leona. Soft "quiet" introspective expression and nice balance between the chair and the dress. It does look a bit like a film scan, the texture and the contrast levels look that way. The highlight on the sash vs the skin tone look like they may have given you some pause for thought. Good shot, My compliments once more. By the way, welcome to PN Bill Link to comment
leora 3 Posted March 4, 2009 Hi, Bill. Thanks for the warm welcome. I like it here at PN with so many talented photographers to converse with. You are on to something about the tones. I was reluctant to "punch it up" because I wanted to retain the mood in the print I scanned which was made from a film negative. I had to make "softer" prints for reproduction in the New York Times, because the zones could get wiped out so easily. I have attached an example of the news print of the full page ad. Thanks for your thoughtful comments. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted March 6, 2009 This is a nice portrait...I really like the B&W tones and textures and the film grain feel...very nicely captured. Link to comment

leora 3 Posted July 12, 2009 I scanned it from my print. It is hard to get this quality from digital. Link to comment
