It is so fluid. I know the space is needed on the left for them to escape, but I wonder if there may be a bit too much. The softness is remarkable. A beautiful work, Pnina.

I truly love this series of photographs. And this one is no exception.

The subjects' looking down is a sign of humility. Taken together with their hand gestures, this could be interpreted as supplication, as entreaty, as prayer. They are praying for meaning, to be able to make sense out of a world of chaos. They are praying for the veil to be lifted from their eyes, and also from their lives. This is a message for all of us.

This photo is expertly crafted. The soft quality of the image is very moody. I think the sharp contrasts work quite well.

My compliments on some very fine work . . .

Shabbat Shalom!

Jack, Sistine Chapel, Michaelangelo....;-)) your association is always using your vivid imagination ,and as usual it reflects your nice wording and photography.

Margaret, thanks for expressing your point of view, I appreciate it. I do think it is needed here because it create some space for the movement of the hands.

Mysterious with a great mood, Pnina. I like the faces and hands gradually becoming more blurred from front to back, and an almost marbled or tortoiseshell quality given by the fabric. Good that you chose the subdued lighting which also increases the effect. A most enjoyable image.

A good one to illustrate one of the aspects of gesture being talked about in the forum. Like some others, I too see the hands as somewhere between suggestive of swimming and praying. Of course, water and submersion is often used in religious analogies, the renewal of baptism, the return to the womb. Here I sense a breaking free (moreso than in "Tear"). It is a graceful move toward freedom but a move nevertheless. I also appreciate the negative space, the way it frames them and enhances that sense of moving toward something. They lose their sense of individuals and become a mass, a feeling they are more symbol than entity. Yet the group has an expressiveness all its own.

I get a sense of rapid forward and downward movement as if I am witnessing the descent of a an eagle diving in the sky. IMO this is the strongest image yet from your veil series.

I love the pastel tones and the softness. As has been mentioned, they do conspire to give this the appearance of being a fresco. The negative space works well here, I would be curious to see how this looked with even more space to the left. You have just the right balance between blur and clarity. The veil is stretched and give strong motion yet the hands and faces have plenty of sharpness.

When I look at this image it speaks to me of all the hours you have spent honing your skill within this arena. Everything falls into place in this image, composition, exposure, shutter speed, finding the decisive moment. This photo is the distillate of one heck of a lot of experience and fine tuning. Simply put Pnina, you really nailed this one !

To all and each of you, I appreciate the feedback!

Roger, interesting analogy of the figures in the net, seeing them as marble or tortoise shall form, I did not think of that direction ,thank for your point of view and interesting impression. The color nuances with the light on the figures, have some tones of marble.... Tortoise shall is amazing....

Fred, it is so interesting to see the analogies which the same photo is evoking in different viewers, I think that the photographer's intent and point of view are enriched by asking for critique, in order to see if something can add to a given photo, but the viewer's imagination especially can add some more layers of thoughts and impressions. Gesture, was my title to this one and than I saw the forum, an interesting coincidence, as well as reading.

" It is a graceful move toward freedom ", and "breaking free", are good analogies, that I thought of when I created this one and the others gestures of dancing/movement with the net in this dance. Thanks for adding your way of seeing it, and the difference you see with the "tear".

Gord, as I have written before, it is interesting to have viewers point of view. Your feeling it as a bird diving in the sky, is also interesting as a bird is free to fly, even though human life has the net as an obstacle, and are not always free to fly...;-)) and as I wrote to Fred, this was, and is, my intention about the net in this dance. Metaphorical will for breaking free.

Thanks for your understanding that working constantly with a subject hones ones result, but I think that some of us are doing it just the same, each in his own way. I think that it is not one photo that does the change Gord, but each photo and all of them together as a series ,are a long way and precess that is developing and creating the saying. Thanks for your very nice written impression.

Dear Pnina, I have come back to this several times and something tells me that I feel the image better if it was turned 90 degrees clockwise. Hope this is not seen by you as a sacrilege! I will not impose it on you here, so for you to try, if you find it worthwhile. I love it like that.

Absolutely angelic. As if these beings are reaching down through the gauze of heaven to touch earth. My favorite of this series.

Another one of your impressive shots ...

I just love the flluidity of the many elements here. There is a wonderfull unity thanks to the veil and the whole composition, as well as the way you handled the color grading, which is quite unsual for you, but works so well here.

But there is also 3 very strong and different individualities, and that is in my opinion this tension which pushes this photo to another dimension
