Very beautiful composition. Breaking the "never the horizon in the middle" rule is perfect here. Also the short vertical lines provided by the posts and the sail add tension and break the symmetry. I also love the heron(?) of the lower right corner. Excellent!

Everything about this photo works; quite beautiful with the soft colors and light, the mood is one of serenity, the strong horizontal line gives some contrast to the softer shades and I like how my eye travels around the image due to the posts in the water, the boat and the bird in the foreground. Lovely image Pamela; beautifully done! Thank you for sharing! :)

I'm with Doug and others on this one.  I too love the placement of the bird, the posts, and the pink clouds.  All of these elements go a long way to break up the mass of water and sky area without highjacking attention from the subject sailboat.  Without these essential elements some dramatic cropping would be required to make the boat more prominent.  Nice catch!  Best, LM.

What a beautiful example of less is more! A lovely comp which breaks the horizon rule & works. Your subject elements use the "Triangle" to great advantage
