Guest Guest Posted November 16, 2002 If this is staged, it seems unethical. If not, it would be good to know more about the circumstances. I don't think the picture stands alone. Link to comment
robert_g._kelly 0 Posted November 21, 2002 This photo is real, I took it at the last large world bank protest in D.C. Anybody from D.C. who can remember back to september might recall that there was one injury reported on the news, this is it. I was one of two or three photographers who got a shot of the girl before the medics came. the photo was taken shortly after she was hit in the face by a police baton. Link to comment
indybri 0 Posted November 21, 2002 I can attest this is not staged, I shot the whole incident on video. The photo captures her state of mind well, but I would also like to see some that you shot while she was slumped in the doorway- that seemed to be the more real to me- (I assume you were the photog standing in the lower right of my frame as I was shooting video) Link to comment
gareth_harper 0 Posted November 21, 2002 A second camera loaded with slide film would have been handy for this shot. Link to comment
gabriel_roca 0 Posted November 25, 2002 I am guessing that this image might have been cropped down a bit. If so, lets see the original version. The image is lacking a bit of context in that all we really see is a young woman with a bloody nose. I'd like to know why she has a bloody nose (in a visual way). Best, -Ed Link to comment
uber photography 0 Posted November 26, 2002 Why on earth would you want slide film? This is not a model shoot, it's news and as such more effective in B&W. Keep it real. Link to comment
gareth_harper 0 Posted November 26, 2002 With slide film you would be in no doubt as to what that black stuff is on her face. Blood has a much bigger impact when it looks real.As for news shots, almost all news and feature shots are done in colour. Link to comment
