rarmstrong 0 Posted February 15, 2009 This Whitetail Doe jumped a snow bank yesterday and ran about 300 yards onto the thin melting ice of Lake Superior to avoid being hit by a car. As of this morning there is no further news about her fate. Please view larger. Link to comment

jmarcraveau 0 Posted February 16, 2009 Sad story... Hope she managed to get out of there. Nice image. Regards, Jean-Marc Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks, Jean-Marc! I haven't heard about how this deer did. Regards, Dick Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 17, 2009 Doug, I accidentally had my camera set to -1.0ev when I took this. Bringing up the exposure really brought out the noise, so I posted it mostly for interest. Thanks for the comment! Dick Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted March 9, 2009 Fantastic image, Dick. Really compelling. Your photos are just great, now, and I like that we have had a chance to watch each other (and a whole bunch of other photo.netters) evolve. Well done. Cheers, Jay Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted March 9, 2009 Thank you, Jay and good to hear from you! The DNR actually rescued this deer with the help of the Coast Guard and a hover craft. It put a dent in their budget! Amazing the difference that a year makes! It has been a very enjoyable year! Best, Dick Link to comment
