cody_hughey 0 Posted January 28, 2009 I am pretty new to photography and this is my first real try using off camera flash. I didn't realize the ISO was 1600 when shooting as I had been shooting around 800.. that caused a little noise and I am aware of that :( Any C and C is appreciated. Link to comment
mark_starr 0 Posted January 29, 2009 I like the starkness of the flash and the balance of lights and darks in the portrait - they create some nice geometry around her face, and the straight-on shot is perfect for the geometric feeling created by the shadows and background- Mark Link to comment
buckgeorge 0 Posted January 29, 2009 I agree with Mark... full range of tones from black to white and i like the framing. Though I like the stark lighting, I might have gone just a little softer; the dark shadows to the left of her nose seem a little harsh, but this is personal preference. Her expression seems a little mischievous and makes for a great portrait. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted January 30, 2009 Overall a nice portrait...I'm sure if I thought about it long enough I could list several things I would improve, but there is nothing glaringly wrong here. Your compositional elements are good, nice tones and textures, nice expression and eye contact...I think you pulled it off nicely. Regards. Link to comment
