Love the contrast between the saturated primary colors of the sky and the cyclist's jersey with the muted browns and greys of the buildings and cobblestones. At first I included the yellow curb in the left hand foreground with my view of the other primary colors in the image, but maybe it's my personal aesthetic: I think personally I would like the composition better with the foreground cropped away! After a while that expanse of paving stones I found distracting. I was a little hesitant to post this because of the wonderful comments it has already received. And take away the elements of modernity from the frame and I would think I was looking at a three or four hundred year old painting in a museum because it is that beautiful. And if this image is an homage to the old masters who painted cobblestones in the foreground, then what do I know... Thanks for posting an amazing photo. Mark Link to comment
