mg 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Okay... So, I like the entire series in this folder... But this one a bit less than others... I think it's a little cramped and too sharp for a scene so fully loaded - if that makes any sense....? It's almost as if you had several people here, and my eye is almost surprised - visually of course, not intellectually - to see no shadows casted by one person onto the next (and same) person...:-) Weird feeling, really ! :-))) I think this may also feel less congested if you would take out about half of the Dougs... anyway, I find there are way too many Dougs on this site already...:-) Cheers. MichaelChang 12 Posted January 17, 2009 Happy New Year, Doug, and you too, Marc! I'm glad this isn't a nude. :-) It's very well done and must have been difficult to plan the composition. All but the 4th figure have their eyes closed - planned or otherwise, it draws my attention to the 4th's hopeful expression. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted January 18, 2009 I wonder if I could add shadows in photoshop? I agree, it would look better. I remember, it was really a tough image to combine, coincidentally, because of the shadows on the banister cast by the successive Dougs. Taking out a few Doug's would lessen the similarity between this, and the Duchamp original, though. Chalk one up for experience. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted September 15, 2010 Very few people know that the above photo inspired this famous abstract:http://www.philamuseum.org/collections/permanent/51449.htmlGreat work, Doug.--Lannie Link to comment
