amyknutkowski 0 Posted January 9, 2009 This is Princess, my in-laws 14 yr. old black lab. She can't see or hear very well anymore but she can smell a dog treat a mile away. This is my first attempt at a pet portrait so any comments or advice would be very appreciated. Thanks for looking! :-) Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 9, 2009 This is just lovely. I like the way you have him full in the frame, but you've left some space in the direction he's looking. I'd like to see the eyes a bit brighter.....I tweaked this a little to make it a bit brighter. I hope you like it. Believe me, I know how difficult it is to take pictures of dogs, especially those with dark coats. Overall, I'd say you have a good one here. Link to comment
karenf 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Hi Amy. i like this shot of your girl. when my girl died at 14, i realised i had hardly any nice images of her. i very much regretted that i hadn't thought to photograph her while she was still well enough. now i love to photograph dogs. i quite like the composition. I like the adjustments christal made to bring her face out a little more. maybe if you were able to also bring out some more detail in the bottom right corner. Link to comment
markus_latva_aho 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Very nice and moody photo of elder dog. I like the original much more than the editet version below. Below, it's blown out and looses the feeling. Link to comment
bekajayne 0 Posted January 10, 2009 Hi I think it's great. Makes me want to see what she is looking at. I def prefer the original version. The second version (tweaked version) takes away the feeling of the photo for me. I don't think it needs any extra lighting but that is just my opinion. :) Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted March 29, 2009 One of the hardest things about photography for me is deciding when the image is done...especially when the subject has been caught so beautifully...This is my favorite of the three you have posted of Princess...The bottom right is fine to me because it does not take away from the expressive eyes of this magnificent soul.....Crystal's tweaked version is ok but the softer tones of your version put me at the location of the shot...again I must say... you have the eye...juan Link to comment
