Horse Is the eye too dark?

Any lighting suggestions? I used fill flash set at -2ev

A bit dark but a very god effort for what seemed to be a dull day. It just does not have a kick, hard to do with funky light. At times I like this I get closer in to hide the light, use slow flash to bring out colours, tray a warm up filter if appropriate.
