jeff.grant 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Yet another rework of a colour original. This is considerably warmer than the colour original. Your comments are most welcome, thanks. Link to comment
memoromano 3 Posted January 4, 2009 very original and excellent i mage i like it regards Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 4, 2009 Wonderful textures and tones, with B/W one can explore this undistracted. Very nice work, Jeff. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted January 5, 2009 to be honest I'm not all that impressed by this one. It seems to be slightly out of focus i.e. a too limited DOF, the composition is rather traditional and the tone that you applied just doesn't feel right for me. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks for the feedback folks. Ton, I don't understand your DOF comment. Other than the rock, what else could be sharp? There is a lot of water movement going on here, so nothing much can be sharp. Can I assume by your comment on the toning that the rest is OK? The composition is a variation on the original colour shot which has more FG sand. It just seemed better to me to crop it out for the B&W. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted January 6, 2009 Jeff, sorry for being not that clear. I have the impression that that rock isn't tack sharp? Link to comment
mikestacey 0 Posted January 7, 2009 Jeff, is good, is very good. The rock is sharp. The wide range of directions and dynamics played out by the water is quite hypnotic. I like the colour treatment too; painterly. Link to comment
seandepuydt 2 Posted January 8, 2009 Really well done Jeff. I would not change a thing. Excellent image - Sean Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 9, 2009 First, Happy New Year to You and Yours, my friend! Second, this is fabulous, and as has been said by others, I'd not change a thing. The composition and shutter speed really work for me! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Thanks for the positive votes, folks. This is growing on me over time. I managed to lose the PSD so I'll have to recreate it if I want to print it. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 9, 2009 B&W and toning is excellent, perfect exposure. I tried a slightly cropped version, top and LHS, and prefer the less centered position of the rock with unchanged aspect ratio. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Thanks for the comment and crop suggestion, Carsten. The original was square but the FG didn't work well as B&W. I'll play with it a bit more. Link to comment
mario2 0 Posted November 27, 2009 It's a good job,the low timming add plasticity to the water in motion,I don't sure about the tone applied, maybe I will preffer to see a simple b&w edition, anyway the scenery captured is done marvelously. Best Regards Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted November 27, 2009 Thanks Mario, you may have to wait a while for an updated image. I must have trashed the PSD file of this, or lost it in my migration to Mac. Link to comment
