Yet another rework of a colour original. This is considerably warmer than the colour

original. Your comments are most welcome, thanks.

to be honest I'm not all that impressed by this one. It seems to be slightly out of focus i.e. a too limited DOF, the composition is rather traditional and the tone that you applied just doesn't feel right for me.

Thanks for the feedback folks.

Ton, I don't understand your DOF comment. Other than the rock, what else could be sharp? There is a lot of water movement going on here, so nothing much can be sharp. Can I assume by your comment on the toning that the rest is OK? The composition is a variation on the original colour shot which has more FG sand. It just seemed better to me to crop it out for the B&W.

Jeff, is good, is very good.

The rock is sharp. The wide range of directions and dynamics played out by the water is quite hypnotic. I like the colour treatment too; painterly.

First, Happy New Year to You and Yours, my friend! Second, this is fabulous, and as has been said by others, I'd not change a thing. The composition and shutter speed really work for me! Cheers! Chris

Thanks for the positive votes, folks. This is growing on me over time. I managed to lose the PSD so I'll have to recreate it if I want to print it.

B&W and toning is excellent, perfect exposure. I tried a slightly cropped version, top and LHS, and prefer the less centered position of the rock with unchanged aspect ratio.

Thanks for the comment and crop suggestion, Carsten. The original was square but the FG didn't work well as B&W. I'll play with it a bit more.

It's a good job,the low timming add plasticity to the water in motion,I don't sure about the tone applied, maybe I will preffer to see a simple b&w edition, anyway the scenery captured is done marvelously. Best Regards

Thanks Mario, you may have to wait a while for an updated image. I must have trashed the PSD file of this, or lost it in my migration to Mac.
