swenson 0 Posted December 31, 2008 What a great shot. I really like the the cold fog, gives a slightjy eerie mood. Enough foreground to give depth but now over power the image. The good position of the sun. And then the fabulous read colors of the sky. Mood + composition + color + exposure = excellent execution. Link to comment
matthew-bologna 0 Posted December 31, 2008 What makes this photo so good is the contrast between the warmth of the background and the chill of the foreground beautifully separated by a veil of mist. -matt Link to comment
alioffe 2 Posted January 1, 2009 Thank you, guys, for inspirational comments. There is not much manipulation with this picture. Beside gradual filter of course I added a bit pink at the boundary between cold and hot to make transition more gradual and increased temperature a bit at bottom half. Otherwise the color contrast is too drastic. In winter photographie I found sometimes challenging to have deal with extreme color contrast: Snow especially in shadow normally bluish or even just blue, sunset-sunrise are of course how it supposed to be very warm. I still have a few pictures which I do not know how to color-correct. I will publish them later for discussion Thanks again and happy New year everyone! Link to comment
