Old Man In Havana

A very good moment, but I think there's something with either composition or contrast or DOF that prevents me from really enjoying it. "Old man" doesn't stick out and is not separate enough from the background is the best way I can put it in words.

I don't know what Dmitry is talking about, this man is moving, seems as if headed in my direction. The apeture effect on the backgroud is nasty (good). I'm all over this photo with my eyes and still I wonder if this guy is coming my way. I like it. Good shot.

light was so bright, so I really had to burn his forehead but I just

loved his face.

Very, very nice. I also disagree with Dmitry about the background and depth of field. This picture is both textural (the wall, the man's hair and face) and emotional (the poignancy of his expression). I really enjoy your vision.

In fact, there's something 3-D or cinematic about this image. The man seems suspended in front of the background; you somehow expect to hear his voice soon, with some quiet music behind it.

The angle of the man's body, the downward gaze, the rumpled shirt all help create a feeling that the man is absorbed in thoughts of perhaps days gone by. I like this very much...good job here!
