sjmurray 33,696 Posted November 29, 2008 Really a snapshot at Thanksgiving--I just like the feeling of this one. Link to comment
emotive 0 Posted November 30, 2008 Jenny is all grown up isn't she? My critique is only with your description. This is hardly a snapshot. Regardless of the time spent getting the lighting right...the lighting is perfect. And you are quite correct; this photograph has a warm feeling about it. Jenny's expression is the culprit I expect. Cheers. Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 2 Posted November 30, 2008 Stunning. Both model and photo. Best Regards, Todd Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 30, 2008 There's something about this picture that reminds me of the Dutch portrait painters of the 17th century like Frans Hals. I like the simplicity and directness of approach. Link to comment
sjmurray 33,696 Posted December 1, 2008 Thank you every one for the nice comments. George: yes, she is certainly grown up. I have photos of her in this portfolio going back literally to the day she was born! That was 23 years ago! I do love the way the color of her hair matches the reddish browns of the background. And Jack: "simple and direct" is my modus operandi, wouldn't you say? Link to comment
Phil_Light 794 Posted January 14, 2009 Haunting image. She's looking at you yet almost right through you! I can see why you react positively to this image, it really is quite haunting, yet quite charming at the same time. Link to comment
aplumpton 16 Posted December 5, 2011 The empathy between model and photographer is evident and that seemingly has helped to allow you to obtain a very natural and relaxed expression and to portray the spirit and what appears as a reserved intelligence of the person. The lighting probably couldn't be better. A fine image. Link to comment
