Art X Photography 1 Posted December 10, 2008 good detail and exposure as well as DoF. Although the original pic may have captured the dedication and spirit of this man, I think your efforts have captured his soul. bravo Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted December 13, 2008 Thank you ART X. This photo is part of my restoration of old family photos. He is my grandfather that took part in the Swedish Archaeological Expedition in Cyprus 1925-1931. The picture was taken during that period. Here he is restoring a terracota fig. pre-geometric period, around 800BC, the pieces of which were found in Agia Irini along with countless other complete figures. Link to comment

marleft 0 Posted December 21, 2008 What do we know Dimitri, in short, about this Swedish Archaeological Expedition in Cyprus 1925-1931? Marios Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted December 21, 2008 We know a lot ,Marie. The expedition is very well documented. There are 8000 photos taken at the time by the Swedish expedition photographer. We have all the articles written by the leader of the expedition, Prof. Gjeistad. There is a book that details every event.. My daughter who is an author is collecting material in order to write a novel about it. She has already been to the Mediterranean Museum in Stockholm where her great grandfather, Toulis, was a curator and she was given a great deal of information and a great welcome, I might say. She was shown all the Archaeological finds. (Not all of them are on display). I will send you the title of the book that was written by the Museum, if you like. Link to comment
marleft 0 Posted December 22, 2008 Dimitri, if you mean "An archaeological adventure in Cyprus", you have already mentioned it to me. You have also mentioned a documentary film shot by the Mediterranean Museum in Stockholm. It should be very interesting to watch it on You Tube. Link to comment
