Photgraphed in N. Central Florida. Couldn't quite match this up with

anything in my bird book - looks like some sort of flycatcher to me - can

any of you ornithologists identify this?

Nice work capturing the detail in this shot. I like the little splash of color on the branch and the blues in the background really set off the bird nicely. Great Shot!

I like everything about this shot, from the lovely little bird to the branch and the reddish bloom...great scene, wonderful production!

...for your kind comments. This was my first shoot with the Canon 100-400 mm lens - it is ideal for this type of photography, I was really pleased with the nice bokeh - the blue color is from refection of the sky in Lake Wauberg. Thanks Bill and Richard for your identification - it was the yellow lower mandible (clearer in other shots) and the rather indistinct wing markings that threw me off track. The blue-gray gnatcatcher is a challenge to photograph - they flit about in the undergrowth where autofocus is unreliable because of all the vegetation - so you have to be quick with the focussing and quick to find where they went!

Hi Milena - yes a change of subject, there are no medieval cathedrals here in Florida! I'll post some more of my shots from Prague, promise. Cheers! RickDB
