tonymarcello 0 Posted October 23, 2002 Let me know what you think of this photo. I considered angling the camera higher, but it was raining and i didnt want to risk damaging the camera or getting too much water on the lens. This photo is why i love film and photography. THe naked eye doesnt notice the gradients of light like film does. What do you think of the lighting, colors, and composition and the photo overall? THe sky was cloudy and uninteresting. Thanks, TOny Link to comment
Ray House 4,552 Posted October 24, 2002 I think left side could be cropped a little, I do like the contrast very much though. Very nice shot! Link to comment
jim schwaiger 0 Posted October 24, 2002 I like the composition a lot and I think keeping the camera down was the right decision. The colors and lighting are nice as well. The dark area at left adds some mystery and contrasts nicely with the light from afar. The only thing I might question is the use of 800 speed film as it might limit how big you can blow this one up for your wall. Link to comment
waynemorgan 0 Posted October 25, 2002 I like the dark left and the composition as a whole. It makes you feel like you are in the middle and there is no way out. Good colors, good contrast and Great shot! Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted October 25, 2002 This really captures the feeling of being in a marsh, like you wouldn't want to step into that water if you didn't really have to.Excellent work! Link to comment
stephen_lau1 0 Posted October 26, 2002 The lighting and the camera angle are very good. It is a smart idea to avoid the boring sky. I like the gradation of light which creates so much depth and drama. The left side is too dark and too heavy for my taste. Also I like to crop this tighter to redue a bit of the forground. I have cropped the image to show what I was thinking. Link to comment
kkwan 0 Posted October 27, 2002 The composition is superb. The river leads the eyes around the frame and deep into the back of the photo. The light is wonderful too. The reflection off the water and the touch of colour at the back both add to the subtle beauty of the shot. Well-seen. Link to comment
peterneibert 0 Posted October 30, 2002 Stephen's crop is skilful: it emphasizes the picture's strong points of light and color -- and you don't miss the part that's not there any more. Link to comment
