Guest Posted November 18, 2008 I think this would be a better shot if you either got that horizon horizontal.. or if you tilted it more. Right now it looks right in between and it gives it a somewhat sloppy feel, also the water has a very yellow/greenish unhealthy cast. Looks like a beautiful subject though, with a beautiful sky! Keep it up! Link to comment
mt4x4 1 Posted November 25, 2008 Nice photo. I do agree about the horizon. Of course this is simple enough to fix post-process. Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted November 25, 2008 What a beautiful scene. I don't think the green looks too unhealthy (hope it isn't!), it makes a nice link between the blues of the sky and distant water and the browner colours in the rocks and trees. I do agree though with the previous critiques that the horizon should be worked on. I think I would lean (no pun intended) towards straightening the horizon, rather than emphasising the tilt, as the scene over all seems peaceful to me and you wouldn't want to detract from the movement and power of the river itself. rj russell 0 Posted November 27, 2008 Hi guys, I have played with this image in lightroom to straighten the horizon as well as tweak it even more, also I have tried desaturating the green. In the end I prefer the half cocked version with the green water, perhaps it has something to do with my half cocked state of mind I was in the day I shot this image! I greatly appreciate all the coments and criticism. Thanks Ole, Kieth and Lucy very much for your critiques and thank you also for visiting. Happy shooting, Ryan Link to comment
